This was taken January 10th 2022 on a surreal afternoon. Coeur D Alene being a Resort Town is usually booming with people throughout the year. This afternoon I had this view all to myself.

This was taken towards the end of April after a freak snowstorm blew in the night before. Stanley Idaho is on of the coldest areas in the lower 48.

This is the West end of Tubbs Hill on Lake Coeur D Alene. I finally got lucky as I've missed some dramatic sunsets a couple of weeks ago. This is a 180 second exposure that allows the water to smooth out and smear the clouds across the sky. It's the expression of time taken in a single image.

Arrowleaf Balsamroot flowers gather around a fallen log on Tubbs Hill. The Balsamroot flower has a brief time to adorn the hillside, it a week or two they disappear until next Spring.

~Ice Scape Lake Coeur D Alene~

I was hoping to get an sunset photo, but the sky was pretty bare. So I had fun shooting these little compositions on the Lakeshore. You could hear the water movement beneath the ice as well as cracking, pinging and hissing. It was really fun and cold so I was by myself. I love shooting the large vista's, but sometimes changing things up is refreshing.

~A Moment In Time~

Soon all Arrowleaf Balsmroot will be felled by time to end their life cycle on Tubbs Hill until next Spring.

While lying in bed this morning, my Wife said the lake might look good for a Sunrise photo. I decided I could go back to sleep, but my wife's cold foot urged me on. The good thing about this spot is it's only three blocks from my house & I could have lied about that, but my wife told me not to. This was taken from the East end of Tubbs Hill looking across Lake Coeur D Alene.

A chilly sunrise greets the East end of Tubbs Hill looking South across Lake Coeur D Alene. If you look closely you will see small animal tracks crossing in the snow between the boulders.
