~Coeur D Alene Idaho and the Surrounding area~
~Roxy Coeur D Alene's youngest branch Manager~
Roxy enjoying a romp on the shores of Lake Coeur D Alene in late March.
While lying in bed this morning, my Wife said the lake might look good for a Sunrise photo. I decided I could go back to sleep, but my wife's cold foot urged me on. The good thing about this spot is it's only three blocks from my house & I could have lied about that, but my wife told me not to. This was taken from the East end of Tubbs Hill looking across Lake Coeur D Alene.
I'm not usually a fan of getting up with 12 degree weather, but when I heard my wife's phone receive a text from my daughter in law saying the lake was starting to look pretty good I decided I could go back to sleep, lie, or both. My wife's cold foot urged me on. The good thing about this spot is it's only three blocks from my house & I could have lied about that, but my wife told me not to. This was taken from Tubbs Hill looking across Lake Coeur D Alene.
If you were to look at a cross section of this tree, you would see the tree trunk is made up of a series of concentric rings. Since a living tree adds one growth ring each year, you can determine the age of the tree by counting the number of growth rings. A core sample taken from this triple twist tree, showed it to be at least 1,350 years old. " A sign a few feet from the tree read." This tree died around 1950. The sign had a image that showed a few precarious green leaves hanging on for life.
Stanley Lake with McGown Peak. A 1,400-sq.-mi. region in the central part of idaho became the first site in the U.S.—and only the 12th in the world—to be named a Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark-Sky Association. I set my alarm to go off every two hours. This was taken around 2:00 am. After I shot this I turned around and started walking uphill shooting the Milky Way. I heard a huge splash in the lake. I was pretty creeped out being by myself, so I grabbed my tripod & camera and ran like a ten year old kid back to the trailer.
We bicycled a section of the Trail of the Coeur D Alene's yesterday. The trail runs 72 miles along virtually the entire Wallace Branch between Plummer and Mullan, following the old Union Pacific Railroad & passing the Coeur d’Alene Lake, skirting the Coeur d’Alene River, and running through the Silver Valley. We had our lunch at this spot, and the view to ourselves.
Green Dream- This little waterfall's name I was told is "Goofy," which seems like a strange name for a waterfall. I spent the day with a couple buddy's Scott Allan & Joel Riner exploring the area about an hour from Wallace Idaho. We had some pretty sweet light going on & had lunch afterwards on the North Fork of the St. Joe River. A super fun day!
My wife and I were vacationing in Idaho. It was raining so hard I could barely see the road. We came upon a small town with a cemetery near the edge of it. My wife noticed the rainbow and excitedly told me to pull over and grab my camera. We sprinted across the field, knowing that the Rainbow wouldn't last for long. I think I shot three or four frames before the rainbow slowly disappeared. We didn't find a leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but we had a great time.
