We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

~Almost Heaven~

Second Beach is located near the Village of LaPush, it is an exceptional stretch of wilderness coastline on Olympic National Park. The broad sandy beach and picturesque sea stacks, relics of ancient rocky headlands, make it a perfect place to observe the grandeur of the primal forces of nature.
Second Beach is part of the only 58 miles of uninhabited coastline in the lower 48.
~Watching~

The gray wolf is one of the world's most well researched animals, with probably more books written about it than any other wildlife species
~Skokomish River~

The Skokomish is the most flood-prone river in Washington State.
~August Rhapsody~

Horseshoe Lake with Mount Adams looming to the South.
This is a 90 second exposure to give Horseshoe Lake a glassy finish.
~Elowha Falls~

Taken in early February. My favorite of all the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge.
~Lupine's Chorus~

A group of Lupines seem to be singing
 below Mount Adams.

 Each time I visit during
the last week in July the Lupines are always gathered together in
this meadow. I am always awestruck by it's beauty each
time I return.
~Reach to the Sky~

Alpine trees reach to the sky
to begin another Summer day
near Mount Adams.
~Dancing Lupines~

Dancing Lupines make a grand entrance
on the bank of a glacier-fed stream near
Mount Adams.

They seem to be peeking into
the stream to see something special
that only they can see.

 They appear each July
for two weeks or a bit more, than vanish
until the following Summer.
